US Wireless giant T-Mobile has announced on Friday that it will no longer sell the Sidekick device, which has been the popular choice among teens for the past eight years.

After almost a decade of popularity and glamour, T-Mobile has decided to phase out its popular QWERTY mobile phone, which has been the favorite status symbol of the likes of Paris Hilton and other young Hollywood stars.

As of Friday, the Sidekick LX, the first and last of its kind to host 3G connectivity, was pulled out of retail stores and online stores after losing its shine to the highly-popular and heavy-featured Apple iPhone and other Smartphones in the market.

But despite the phase out announcement, T-Mobile said that it will continue to offer Sidekick users the wireless service and technical support as long as they wish.

Also, T-Mobile said that it will not be the last chapter of the Sidekick, saying that there will be a comeback and it would be big.

The Sidekick has earned its popularity after launching its first QWERTY model in 2002. However, with the launching of the iPhone and other Android-powered Smartphones, the demand for the T-Mobile flagship device has dropped significantly.
