business location : Kota, Rajasthan India. Want to set up a cow/buffalo based dairy farm. Plz throw light on the following points:
    (a) which is better: cow/buffalo/both? why?
    (b) cost for starting the project. We wish to start with 10 animals, expandable to 100 animal, in a period of 5 years.
    (c) where shall we get the best quality animals? Is local purchase better, or import required from other states?
    (d) how much land should we purchase initially? Should it be near the city or at a far-away place? Should we take the cheapest possibility of land, provided water and motorability are there, or should we spend more money to purchase at a nearby location? Does distance to 20-50km from city make a big difference?

We would like to start small - around 25 both male & female for meat & milk, and ramp up size as we go along. We will setup the unit. We require personnel to stay at the farm and help in the daily running of the unit. Terms and conditions can be worked out. Interested persons can contact me at vivekgm@gmail.com.

    1. Animal breed.
    2. Feeds
    - Forage, includes napier, grass, hay, grass, maize etc. - Concentrates includes wheat bran, maize germ, dairy meal and polland.
    - Other byproducts eg cotton seed cake, fishmeal, molasses, brewer waste and poultry waste.
    - Feed additives eg minerals and vitamins.
Dairy cows diseases and disorders includes,
    a. Acidiosis, its a disorder in the rumen that impair function and digestion.
    b. Bloat caused by excessive accumulation of gasses in the rumen
    c. Mastitis its an infection of mammary gland caused by bacterial organisms.
