Since families of today are very busy because of hectic schedule, nannies are really of great help in performing household chores and other duties. If you are looking for a highly lucrative and in demand business today, you can try starting up a nanny agency business of your own.

To provide you the step by step process in establishing your business in the industry, this article is designed to help you.

In starting this kind of business, you have several factors to be considered. In this kind of business, your agency will be the one responsible for getting nannies and matching them with certain families who are in need of childcare. This is in fact a challenging job because you need to get a qualified nanny that will take care of all the needs of a certain family. The screening and hiring process of nannies must also be very strict because you need to make sure that they do not have police records.

Start a Nanny Agency

To finally start off in your nanny agency, you need to have the following: insurance, fax line for your business, fax, printer, office or home space, Internet and personal computer. After having these tools and equipments, your office must be set up. To make it look more professional, you can also choose to hire an interior designer.

You also need to have excellent software that will help you in hiring nannies. Aside from that, this can also be used in the process of advertising. Now, if you want to widen your horizons and consider those who do not have know-how in using the computer, you can also choose to place your ads in newspapers. Another form of advertisement is posting flyers in areas of your choice.

You also need to conduct a phone interview in order for the potential nannies to be screened. You can also make a questionnaire which will help you in identifying whether you will schedule a face-to-face interview with the candidates or not. Of course, you also need to ask for certain references for you to know that a potential nanny candidate has a clean record.

Now, let us say you are already in the interview process. By asking the most basic interview questions, you will be able to know if a candidate is qualified or not. You must pay attention on how a candidate answers all your questions because through this, you will also be able to identify if they can perform the necessary tasks as stipulated in their job descriptions.

Next, a background check must also be performed. In doing this, you must ascertain that the investigation is done well so that the future employers will not be having trouble with the potential candidates. The website of NannyNetwork will be a great help for you in doing this.

Next, you can already draft your work agreement. It must specify the following: holidays, vacations, work scope and working hours.

Hello, I am thinking of starting up a Nanny/childminders Agency , do I need to have any qualifications to do this? I am NNEB qualified, had many years experience working as a full time Nanny, worked for about 6 years as a senior negotiator in an estate agents, and am currently full time mum to my three children aged 5, 3 and 18 months. This seems like my perfect job, do I need to register anywhere to do this or be qualified in any other way? Many Thanks, Nicola
