We accumulate at minimum 50 tons monthly of number 1 prepared , unprepared, e grade, motors ,copper ,stainless, and extruded alluminum 60_63.This is a short list of what we get.     Malaysia is a good location to start a yard to do scrap metal business. I started this business 4 months ago and have been trying hard to clinch a deal and has not been successful as it is difficult to get the buyers trust. We have buyers coming in from India and pay cash and ship these scraps to India. We would be able to source turnings, Alluminium, Steel, Hms 1/2. Currently we are able to supply 500 mts of CI Boring (crushed cast iron), NC bundles- 500-800 mts both on a monthly basis. All these got to be purchased from stipulated yards. For a start I would be anyones agent and I knows how carefully the loading got to be monitored. I will be glad to be able to be linked with buyers from the US/Canada too. We also know there is a great demand in China, India and Korea. If you are interested to start scrap business here you are welcome.     Can't really invest a little money when buying a yard, they are expensive!!! But they seem like they can make the owner alot of money. I went to the yard today, that don't seem to be working it hard, they have owned for long time, and it seems like the inventory is at very low level, would say 200 vehicles, it is on 10 acres, with a 2500 square foot shop, 1 decent loaded, 1 old one, no scale, pinnacle inventory system, 1 flatbed, large trailer, tools, how do I put a value on the yard?????

    somerset, wi usa. hi i want to start recycling metal. not own a yard and take in metal like regular metal recycling places that pay small time scrappers for bringing in their scrap. i just want to go around and collect computers or electronics that people are throwing away and break them up and separate metals and go turn them in to places that recycle metals. do i need a license for that or an llc or insurance? right now i pick up stuff thrown out and take it in to metal recycling places and have created business cards but not sure what legal form or permits i need to do this without getting in trouble with the law

    Starting a scrap export is very hard unless you have couple of millions kept aside for the deal, i tried in a hard way, you have to purchase minimum quantity of scrap metal at a good price is 500 metric tons.no one has time nor the interest to entertain you if you have less quantity to buy. All transactions are to be paid upfront that means you pickup the scrap at one hand and pay by other hand. If any one is luring you that they can give start with small quantity or less price beware it might be hazardous contained material, you might get in big trouble later .

    Philadelphia PA. How are you ? i have a question about smelting ? I'm in the process of opening up a small scrap yard and wanted additional information about smelting. What kind of procedure or licenses do i need to be able to melt metal? are there different permits or licenses for different sizes? Any answers or guide to the right direction is appreciated.     All of these people want to start a scrap metal company.Where is this coming from ? The high prices on metals today for non ferrous metals.Where 10 years ago we struggled to stay alive has the supply and demand went down and our middle and little customers shopped prices before selling to us .Prices were paid like 75 cents on number 1 copper .We had to charge to pick up iron, we did not have enough work for the bailer some days.

    Do you people realize that it takes years to really understand and know these metals when they come in different forms. I was surrounded by my brother and dad who could make deals in their sleep. The point is if you want to open a scrap yard you have to hire workers, pay many costs associated with equipment ,Eno , haz mat laws , msn laws and so much more. I hope this little bit of information will help. Buy a truck and pick up metals and sell to the yards!
