    Jacksonville, FL 32217. FL State Certified Electrical Contractor (EC) and CA State Certified Electrical Contractor (C-10). Not getting any business, not making any money. I qualify for food stamps, which is ridiculous with these qualifications. Can someone please give me some wise advice on how to get this 747 up off the ground and flying smoothly?!! I need ideas on how to develop a customer base without the heavy expense of advertising. I have no money and bad credit. I have a family of three to support and I am the only one working. Electrical contractors do not want to hire me as they feel that I am a threat to their business with my qualifications. They feel I will either want to much money or I will attempt to steal their customer base. In which I would not, as that is unethical! Therefore I just need to continue to struggle with my business here in Jacksonville, FL and continue to find my own work! Even though my electrical contracting business is now over 5 years old, and I am still UNDER $40K/YEAR IN GROSS SALES. Can anyone please give me some solid advice?!! Thanks for listening!     if you are a diploma holder or degree holder, this is itself a license that you can do work as an electrical contractor., but you must apply for contractor license through some safe and legal channel. Govt. has to give without any extra fees. do not take help from external agencies as they will charge you around 10k-15 k for one license.
