Starting a Fundraising Business

Do you have a knack at talking to people? Do you have good oral and written skills? Are you great with inter-personal relationships and public relations? Do you have a desire to help others and promote worthy and noble causes?

If you do then may be starting a fundraising business is for you. Here are a few tips in starting your own fundraising business.

There are a lot of organizations and associations out there that have worthy causes and depend solely on fundraising for funding. I’m sure you have heard of numerous charitable organizations that aim to fight a deadly disease or protect the environment or reduce poverty and oppression. There are also many community activities that rely on the financial help of others to survive such as school games or church activities. Whether it is rebuilding a shelter or fighting hunger, fundraising has been an indispensable part in furthering these organization’s causes. If you are interested in helping these causes by starting your own fundraising business then here are a few things to consider to help you get started.

Skills Needed in Starting a Fundraising Business

It is vital for any professional fundraiser to have good people skills. He must be able to communicate well with others and be able to lead teams and work well in groups. He must be able to talk to potential clients in a professional yet personal manner. A good writing skill is also a plus. He must be organized and methodical in contacting people, planning fundraising events and keeping track of the money being raised. Organizations that rely mostly on fundraising look for a fundraiser that is not only competent but also has an unwavering integrity and honesty. They must be able to trust you to raise enough money to keep their organization afloat and further their causes.

As a professional fundraiser, you must have previous fundraising experience. This is very important as your future clients depend solely on you to get them their funding. To be able to get enough experience you can first volunteer in the fundraising programs of some charitable institution or may be even spearhead a fundraising activity yourself. A professional fundraiser does not need a lot of equipment to start. Just a computer with internet access, a telephone, printer and fax machine would be enough. The real work is in contacting people to first take you as their professional fundraiser and then look for people that are willing to donate some money.

Marketing a fundraising business

To be able to market your skills as a fundraiser you would need to send out letters, e-mails, phone calls or may be even visit, the charitable associations and organizations in your area. You can also start your own website and create a portfolio of your past fundraising activities and the total money you were able to raise. You can also contact schools and parents associations and offer your fundraising services to them.

Do you want a fundraiser that costs nobody anything- not event your supporters/participants- but instead pays everyone!!! I help raise funds for any worthy cause WITHOUT SELLING or asking for NO DONATIONS! We are a gold broker who is focused on helping the community. What we do is set up events (usually in homes of volunteers or members) and pay cash to people who bring their unwanted or broken gold and silver. THE BEST PART- we pay top dollar in CASH to the those who bring their gold/silver to the event with no pressure offers. We pay the host of the event (people who volunteer their homes for the event) 10% of what we buy AND we pay the fundraising cause 15-20% of the gold bought!!! And 7% on any event booked from the fundraiser. CONTACT ME TODAY Linda@24KBrokers.com

Hi, I am looking to start fundraising activities that will lure the public to come out and participate. I am thinking about doing four big galas a year, either walk a thons, / run a thons/ dance offs, fashion shows, maybe something where people sell their crafts and certain proceeds go to different organizations. I want to help out many causes a year not just one. I have connections for Deeays to provide music, different ideas. Am affiliate with different businesses and churches that will back me up. I just need to get an idea of how and where to get started.
