I'm a journalist by profession, and farming is my passion. I have been dealing with bamboo all my life, but started growing it as a business in 2009. I have set up a mother garden of 100 bamboo plants on my farm: Talent Orchards in Nakaseke district in Uganda, 65km north of Kampala city. I'm mainly growing the Dendrocalamus asper variety. I have set up a nursery where I have started multiplying the bamboo. I hope to start marketing in June this year. I'm looking for people to work with. Also planning to process bamboo into different products. Anyone interested in teaming up with me to promote bamboo as a sustainable alternative to wood?

Guys be very careful of people telling you you can get carbon credits for planting bamboo. To register a VCS project costs around $150,000 and unless you can show that the bamboo could not be planted without Carbon funding (additional) they will not register your project.

Hi friends, We wish to start a new business in the field of Industrial Bamboo Farm in a 35ha farm in Batam Island, Indonesia. We have the capital, the land, the labour force but do not know whether there are any expert consutant/s to assist us in designing the plantation, advising on the types of industrial bamboo most suitable for the land, sustainable cultivation methods and whether to grow the bamboo from seeds or seedlings in this part of the world. If there is any one residing within the vicinity of Java Island or Sumatra,or further afield who could assist us in our new endeavor we would be grateful if you could kindly get in touch with us at your earliest convenience. If requested, we certainly are open to any reasonable joint venture proposals with any qualified party that possesses the necessary expertise in this area of business. Many thanks.

The bamboo can be given to you for free. You can train the locals on how to manufacture the bamboo crafts. Then profit can be shared. Nigeria has a population of over 150 million people and it is the leading economy in Africa. You are sure to make a huge profit. Let me know if you are interested. Regards.
