For those who would like to know more about fish farming email me at crcas@werrcorp.com and I would be glad to help you with what I can. Just don't ask me to tell you the whole step.. You have to have a precise question like:
    1. How much capital do I need to start with?
    2. How many workers do I need to have?
    3. How large is my fish pond supposed to be?
I can help those who would like to start their own fish / shrimp farm.

hi Teddy, can you be specific about the type of aquaculture system you're interested in, i.e;re-circulating aquaculture system, race-way system or the traditional earthen pond system. I do have dvds of some farms constructed by us which can be sent to you, and not the actual construction process, but our company can come over to Ghana and construct for you. You can contact me through my e-mail;bdbest2002@yahoo.com

Vicky, some of these projects were even recorded some years back, its our own archive of all our projects. And really, i would like to advice all new entrants into this business to pay lots of attention to the type of production system they use. Because no matter how good the feed or juveniles your stock are, if they are bred in faulty or inappropriate systems, you will end up with discouraging or out rightly disastrous results.

Those interested in information about aquaculture in Sub Saharan Africa - publications, case studies, links, media news, videos, existing fish farms and research insts, equipment suppliers etc - have a look at the SARNISSA website www.sarnissa.org

Sometimes its better to spend some time to look for yourself for information, read and learn, go and visit some existing farms etc before writing general emails asking people to tell you everything about starting up a new fish farm. Those who look for themselves at the start are far more willing to succeed. Best wishes, Will, Univ of Stirling UK
