Bronx, N.Y. United States. My husband use to do handyman work part time until he was laid off from his job. It use to bring in some money to compensate his full time job. I would correspond with the clients after he negotiated the price. My question is how can I get the jobs and have someone do the work for me. Is this possible? or do I have to be a handywoman to get the jobs.

I started a business May 2010. I usually charge $60/hour and have had no complaints. I don't charge minimums or extra for the first hour or travel time, it only confuses people and makes them skeptical, so those costs are rolled into the $60. Getting started was easy and can be mostly done on-line in this order; IRS EIN number, state business name registration and "Articles of Organization", county business license (all for about $100.) Most work comes from local newspaper advertising and word-of-mouth.

Cartersville, GA I would like to restructure my handygirl business so that I am doing everything within legal limits. I don't want or do any large jobs, just small residential jobs under $1500 per job. I have $100,000,000 in liability insurance already and do all the work myself. What all should I have to be totally legal? Thanks, can email me directly at tuffgirl.builders@gmail.com Mentoring welcomed! Have Web Page FB fan page and invoices etc already. Would like some guidance or a checklist to make sure I am compliance. Thank you!
