Hi @Gerald in BULAWAYO. i am wondering why the owner wants you to write a proposal, i must tell you to consult a business adviser before getting into this business. Ask other garages on how much is the rent around that area, do not sign up for something that will take 80% of your capital, can tell you this much, the owner is greedy and ask your self this, why is garage still empty on the main road. what happen to the previous occupants? do your research before signing anything with that man. Remenber this, if you are a good mechanic, no matter where you are located, customers will come to you.

Having read through most of the above comments a lot of you are overestimating how easily your business will start. You will probably only cater for around 6 - 10 cars a day maybe 2 at a time. Also you will struggle if you have no expertise in the automotive trade after people asking what tools the need. If you are serious about setting up a business do it in a field of which you have experience and expertise. Good luck with your endeavours.
