Sir, I want to start sheep farming in malaysia, pls give details of licensing procedure, and regarding how to export live sheeps from india to malaysia
  • Syed Mustafa Hussain Razvi expert adviser said on June 14, 2011
Dear Anand, You can start trading from india and you can get Cheap Sheeps and Goats from Rajastan, Maharashtra and Hyderabad as there is more production in Rajastan and Maharashtra and more consumption in Hyderabad. You have to buy the Goats / Sheep from Traders and do Quarantine in Madras for 2-3 weeks to ensure that you are exporting 100 % disease free Goats/ Sheeps out of India + again 2-3 Quarantine in Malaysia to ensure that disease free animals have entered in to Malaysian Territory. After doing everything just work out How much you can get as we are already involved in like this Projects to Gulf.

@Dinesh, its good that you are planning Goat farm in Sri Lanka as there is shortage there also as mostly people are exporting the meat from Sri lanka to Far East Countries. Female Goat can give you best result if you breed them at the age of 11- 13 Months. Male will give best performance if it is above 2 years. 1 Male of more than 2 year can handle 20- 25 females

Could you please suggest me early in these land how many goat i can buy for running the business. I'm planning to sell more than 200 to 500 goats per month once i setup to sell in the local market as well as exporting the meat to foreign countries and local selling of meat. Dear sir, I am interested to start goat farming in Dharwad it is in north karnataka, please let me know about the breeds for meat, shed design, feed & Nutrition, Health care, Investment & support by the government and the government regulations to start a goat farm. Kindly give the good suggestion (e.g., for every 50 goats what is the land required for feeding and for stay, machinery requirements, suitable breed in my location etc) and goat farming business plan if possible. Thank you very much in advance. Regards Ashfaq Ahmad
  • Syed Mustafa Hussain Razvi expert adviser said on June 21, 2011
Dear Amir, You can keep up to 1000 goats in your land but main thing i am afraid, where you will grow fodder. what you can do is to buy the Goats from either Rajastan, Maharshtra or Hyderabad as in other parts you will get expensive. There is Huge demand of MEAT Goats between 14- 16 Kg Live Weight rather than meat and you can gain profit of 300- 400 Rs on each Goat which is highly impressive. if you need supply of Goats in Bulk from Hyderabad please let me know

@Ashfaq Ahmad, It is very good that you are starting the Goat farm but plan and make everything ready before September   but  start after Eid because from during Monsoon season many Goats will catch season and die so just before Eid you will get Expensive Goats. Shed- Make normal shed of Asbestos and it will cost you around 120- 140 Rs / Sq ft. Inside shed area you need 14 Sq ft / Goat and outside space surrounded by Net around 30 S

@Ashfaq Ahmad, for fodder you can give Maize, Jawar, Bajra, Napier, Lucerne, Stylo, Subabul and many other fodder as recommend by your Vet. You can Home Made Concentrate not only to last stage Pregnant Does and Lactation Does but also to Dry Does before Mating season. for health care you have to appoint Vet to take good care of your goats. for 25 goats  you need 1 acre of land. for Govt Schemes, you have to make project Report and submit to bank for loan and there is 25 % Subsidy also but check you region is there is scheme or not. for training check my old post. Suitable Breed Osmanabadi

@eva, Dear Eva, Nice to see email from UAE and the recession is hitting here due to property price surge by more 15- 20 % in Dubai & Abu Dhabi. regarding the profit it will be initially 10-12 % and it will increase up to 35 - 40 % in coming years if you do it well in a professional way and dedicate more time initially  on goats in order to avoid mortality due to diseases. you can start with minimum 10 Boer Goats or local goats so that you can more about the goats and expand it gradually. yeah dont know the Rates of Manila but in India Shed Cost come to 10-  12 AED / Sq ft. if you have any queries please write to me on below email address.

we write to find out why a license would be required for goat farming. Other than the poultry farming we intend to start in November this year, we also want to do goat farming. we have a big farm(58 acres) in Uganda and will also do pineapple farming, bananas, sweet potatoes, coffee and exotic tree planting. To farm too will be horticulture and cows. Please advise further of how all that business can run concurrently. We intend to give up our current jobs to concentrate on that. Is it a business worth taking the risk to educate our children. Thank you

@Khan, you can grow the fodder for 125 Goats but start with 25 and expand gradually in 1 year. take training before going for goat farming as this will help you in getting knowledge about goats. check whether in your area is there demand of goat milk or goat meat but in india there is lot of demand of meat goats so go for meat goats to sell weekly or go for eid goats as per your budget. for meat goats go for sirohi or barbari. for milk goats - jamunapari. eid gaots -  cross of jamunapari or sirohi or malwa. you have  to make project report and submit in bank for loan

@adnan hassan, please check my old post and send your queries in details at below email address

@chris uzoma okey, bring only the goats and do trading as you dont have enough land to grow fodder or take land on lease and plan brother

@Ramesh, check with Vet whether the goats are having disease or not. are you doing the worming properly or not? You have to daily feed 2-3 Kg of green fodder along with 0.5 Kg dry fodder and 200 Grams of Concentrate. You have to grow Monocotyledons which comprises of Maize, Jawar, Hybrid Napier, Gunea Grass , Oats and Para grass. These fodders are rich in energy and are used for supplying energy to animals and this should contain 66% of the diet.

Secondly you have to also grow Dicotyledons like Stylo , Lucerne, Berseem and Subabul. These fodders are rich in protein and help in Body building of animals and Milk Production and should be 33% of the diet. Remaining 1 % of the diet with concentrate. By thumb Rule you should feed the fodder 10 % of Body weight

@gugu mlanni, contact boer association in Australia or new by farmers or put Advertisement in local News paper

@sumalya majumdar, 1st check whether your land comes in location where Nabard is sanctioning Loan for the Live Stock. You have make Project Report submitting all the details to local Bank for the approval. Go for Black Bengal Breed. You may take investors and give yearly dividend or profit or 2 to 3 friends can collaborate and start . when starting make sure terms and condition are clear to all the partners

@syed khan, first of all read my old post and email me in details all the queries. in this 3 acre of land you can grow fodder for 75 Goats and after expanding take near by land on lease for fodder production. Go for Local Breed or Osmanabadi which are best suitable for your region.

you can get loan up to 25 lakhs with 25 % Subsidy and this depend upon your land and other properties in City.

if you need Project Report please contact us at 9989579586 or under signed email address so that we can guide you in right direction

@selva, its very hard to get the kids as no one will sell unless they are real need of money. but nothing is impossible you can go the local market weekly and collect the  Healthy Kids 10- 15 from the market as they will come to sale along with their mothers but remember to take Vet Doctor or any expert.

you can go for Osmanabadi, local breed Kannaiadu or Malabari or Sirohoi.

@Hari Sharan Poudel, Dear Sir, Your idea is Good but there is very little Demand of Organic meat  in India , Pakistan, Nepal & Sri Lanka.  this Business you have to do on Large Scale and supply either to Far east  or Europe and your have to catch genuine traders as in international trade people make lot of fraud.

sir which ever is best suitable for you and can satisfy the demand of local pubic and make good profit for you is advised by me.

You can go for Sirohi or Local Goats or Black Bengal
