“How to Start a Daiquiri Business?”

    2016 had been the year of daiquiri shops all over Texas!! Starting a daiquiri shop is much easier than you would think. Daiquiri shops are a very profitable buisiness as well if done correctly.

    1.Location is key

    2. Drive thru is key

    3.Serving a premium quality daiquiri is key.(As many daiquiri shops that have opened this year, using Swirled Ice will only get you so far. Then you have to worry about the new daiquiri shop down the street with a better product and basically the same price! No worries about competitors when using my Real Premium Daiquiri Fruit Mix!)

    4. 2 restrooms on site is TABC LAW

    5. DAIQUIRI MACHINES- need at least 5 machines to sart (my recommendation because you need drink options to expand customer base). 10 daiquiri machines will allow you to do sales over $500,000 a year. Frosty Machines is what I suggest. Frosty Machines are made in New Orleans.

    6. Food.. it can be headache. If your good at it and have the market/Clientele then by all means you will benefit all around from it.

    My company name Texas Blends.

    I was the founder of Daiquiri King. I still let people market off my Daiquiri King facebook page so feel free to visit the page.

    Thanks and any questions you might have feel free to contact me.

    @JAKE YOUNG - I was thinking of opening a daiquiri shop in a tourist town in Wisconsin. It is a small town, but has many festivals there. People come in summers from Minnesota and Illinois to enjoy their lake cabins. There is the perfect old time Dairy Queen. Building right across the street from Main Street. Since this is a seasonal thing with mostly tourist and winters are cold, do you think this is a wise choice? There are no daiquiri shops around, but many old time bars that also serve food. Can you give me your opinion?
  • JAKE YOUNG beginner adviser said on November 19, 2016

    @Bridget Hi Bridget, It can definitely work, thou, I think you would need to add some other dimensions to the Daiquiri shop. I have some ideas that could work to assure year round sales with no major sales drop during the winter months.

    Contact me at ?jake.young@texasblends.com and I can give you some more information that will hopefully steer you in the right direction. If your looking at an old vacant Dairy Queen, that is a great set up with a drive thru window!

    @jake young, is it legal to sell daq's mobile? And do I need a permit or license to sell per private parties?

    @jake young hi jake my name is tasha i'm trying to open a daiquir shop in north carolina. i need your help and input. i tried calling you no answer can you email me at ljohnsonfamily9134@gmail.com asap
  • JAKE YOUNG beginner adviser said on January 24, 2017

    @Brittney lott?

    Hi Brittney, If you are traveling to service a private party with alcohol in your mobile then yes you will need to get a Temporary Travelers Beverage Permit from your local Alcohol Beverage Commission. Also you are able to sell out of your mobile with proper permits from your local Alcohol Beverage Commission. Check to see what bathroom requirements are needed as they vary from state to state/county to county.

    What is the average cost to open a daiquiri shop in the DFW area?
  • JAKE YOUNG beginner adviser said on February 25, 2017

    @Isaac Eli, Hi Eli, please refer to post #93. Generally speaking $50,000-$80,000 is a common price range to start small and build upon that accordingly. Your sales will dictate your movements. 3 most important things in the Daiquiri Business is:
    1. Quality of Product
    2. Customer Service?
    3. Marketing

    @jake young, My name is Carlos and live in Grand Prairie texas. Very interested in opening up a daq shop but dont know where to begin. Any help or guidance.
  • JAKE YOUNG beginner adviser said on April 12, 2017

    @carlos loera

    Hi Carlos,

    First find a location with a drive-thru that is between 900-1100 sqft. Then apply for BG Permit with your local Alcohol Beverage Commission. Your store will need 2 restrooms if your not doing more than 50% food. Once you have done these steps, please contact me so I can guide you through the rest of the details. Thanks again,

    I would like to open a daiqurii shop in Dallas, Tx and I want to know what I would need to get started beside writing my business plan. How much and where would I be able to find a machine to use for my business. If you have any suggestion I am willing to listen.

    I want to open a daiquiri shop in Omaha, NE. I feel it would be a lucrative business here as it would give the fair state of Nebraska something different to do. I love the family opened one in Dallas. I wonder could they give me some insight on how to open one here and the steps needed
  • JAKE YOUNG beginner adviser said on December 4, 2017

    @Melane Green?

    I would check on Google for local businesses that lease ?frozen beverage machines month-to-month so you can eventually buy your own and save money. Another route would be to finance them.?

    Texas Blends services DFW area with daiquiri mix, but only leases machines in Houston/houston metro area.

    Thanks for inquiry and wish you the best on your journey!

    I been having this idea to have a daiquiri shop in Alabama for awhile now. I want to start off small then work my way to something bigger. Our town is growing and I would like to open a shop here which would give me a little bit of home since I am from New Orleans. What would be my first steps in trying to open a shop? I wanted to have 4 machines to start off with. Would that be something wise to do as I am starting off small?

    I want to get some idea of the cost of setting up a Daq shop in the Midwest. I want at least 7 machines and I would also like to serve quick food like chicken, fries, sliders. I want it to be family-friendly New Orleans style not too big but not too small. I am just not sure as to where to start. I contacted the chamber of commerce hoping they are able to provide some insight. In information you can provide me would so greatly appreciate.
