@Sunil M, The Difference between Roller Flour Mill and Chakki Plant is that you cannot produce Maida, Refined Atta, Coarse Bran in Chakki Plant. Chakki plants are only used to produce wholewheat atta with full fibers with the same aroma of stones and taste you get from local street vendors. Rollers are used to damage the starch and extract fibers from the wheat flour. which is used in bakery products like bread, biscuits etc.

@arjun, Just purchase  a single chakki from you local market , it can grind 200 Kg/Hr.  As there is no such atta plant for a small capacity of 2 ton per day, You have to setup at least 2 ton/hr chakki atta plant to get the viability.

@s kulkarni, Who told you that there is shortage of wheat in india ?? This year the wheat production in india was 85930000 Metric Tonnes which is 6.5% more than last year 80800000 Metric Tonnes. And for all other queries read my previous comments.

@amitraj, To manufacture atta,maida,suji,dalia and sattu you have setup a roller flour mill for wheat processing and blending and to manufacture besan you have to setup a unit for gram dal processing. whats your desired capacity and whats your budget to start this business ?

First of all 2-4 Ton/day Project is not feasible, Secondly Do u want to Produce Besan from Dal or you also want to Gram and Produce Gram Dal then Besan from it ?

@Vicky, There are no special procedure you have to follow to start a flour mill, You just need to register your company in DIC,Sales Tax, Wheat Purchase license from Market Committee ( Mandi Samiti), NOC from Pollution and Fire Departments, CLU From Town Planner if not an industrial land.

@sunil varade, 300 kg/hr Besan Plant is not feasible because most of the machinery used in processing Gram Pulse ( Chana Dal) are having minimum capacity of 1 Ton/hour, So we suggest you to setup 1 Ton/Hr Besan Plant and The project cost is approx. Rs 40 Lakhs including Civil,Mechanical and Electrical Work.

@ashok kumar, We dont recommend setting up a chakki atta plant with less than 2 Ton/Hour Capacity. But if you want too setup this 5-6 ton/day plant Approx. Rupees 10 lakhs are required for this . @manish singh, Rai Bareily has only 4 flour mills near birla cement factory and still there is good scope of flour mill as the wheat arrival is good. we are already doing 1 project in Rai Bareily.

I am working in consultancy job in U.P. and while searching some information I am submitted or portfolio to this site quite interesting but what I realize most of the participants are Little bit ignorance who does not know about milling process and quality parameter just write the comment any thing to show the people own smartness please avoid that type of people and go through the proper qualified people. I just want to confirm you that the fact of Flour milling is of two types are economically or practically in practice called chakki Milling & roller flour milling.chakki milling is simple process and more than approx.10 lakh units are working across India and this mill is used for producing whole wheat Atta. Second type of called Roller Flour Milling this produces variety of products like MAIDA,Sooji,Atta, Bran and Germ. This is typical milling process and in India runing capacity for such mill is 60 - 600 T per day and this costs about 2-10.5 crores if Indian machineries are used but for Imported ones minimum runing capacity would be 100 Tons per day and it should cost any where from 6-10 crores in india. I am proud to share such type of information to satisfy the people who are interested to put a new milling unit.
