Hi, I would like to start an online tailor/custom design business. I live in Asia which is where my tailors will be. I have a few questions:
1. Because it may take a while getting customers, would it be a good idea to find a tailor shop or a factory who can take my one off orders? As business grows, I will then be able to hire a few people to work for me solely.
2. How does the fabric inventory work? Do Tailors stock their own fabric or have a fabric supplier who supplies them on a needed basis. Would it be advisable that the tailors and fabric supply is in the same city/country to cut down on shipping costs?
3. Do I ask my fabric supplier to supply me with swatches of everything? How does this work.
4. If a customer wants a fabric/print that is not in my inventory, do I find this for them from my list of suppliers.
