On the basis of IEC, companies can obtain various benefits on their exports/imports from DGFT, Customs, Export Promotion Council etc. When you become an authorised exporter you can find out buyers through Chamber of Commerce of other countries, Our Indian Embassies have Trade wing each country and Foreign Countries Embassies working India also Trade wings.

    When select Export Product, it should be easily available in your area. I like to share with you a successful story of a person (Sunil Kumar). One women society making Coconut oil, Banana chips, pickle etc. and distribute locally (Houses), their products are high quality but they have no idea to export their products. One person named (Sunil Kumar), took an IEC Code (Export Import License) as Merchant Exporter, and buy products from Society and make necessary changes (Packing and labeling) as International Standard and exporting to Middle East countries very successfully.

    @srinivasa rao, Hi Srinivas, IEC enough to Export Vegetables but take Membership from APEDA (Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority). They will guide you properly. Developed countries Government highly health conscious about their citizens, so should keep international standard (Organic, less fertilizer used and no pesticide is used) vegetable only can export you. Different countries have different norms import food items.
