To answer Q1. Company structure is important regardless of the industry. Look into whether you will set up as LLC or Corp. Best is to consult an accountant. Capital depends on the type of tour company you want to create. Other things to look at are, state regulations on tour companies, many states have regs, many don't. If you sell your tour to people in multiple states, you have to make sure you abide by each state's regs. You will also want to consult with a lawyer who is familiar with seller of travel law. Lastly, it is important to look into liability insurance. Some insurance companies specialize in tour operator insurance, so that should tell you something about its relevance.

@phenyo, This business needs hardly any cash, this is more about managing and personal relation with your tourist. You can arrange everything for tourist and keep your share. You can arrange car, buy tickets, plan their trip, book a hotel in visitor's money so why you need cash for this? You can also start this business from home, all that you need is a computer, internet and a cellphone. I think you need more passion than cash.

i have read a number of the questions raised and believe Bizhub has answered them very well. i would also like to add that being a start up, one needs to spend time and money on consultants who can draw up a decent business plan - in particular the financial sections. they can answer the bankability point, break even point and more importantly, based on certain capital outlay and running costs, will this business venture be feasible. but be warned, there are many people out there who do business plans. do a thorough background check on them - especially on their financial I.Q. otherwise...this is a great site. would like to get more involved somehow. regards Bryan
