Hi, Thank you for providing this helpful information on pig farming. I would have long embark on pig farming but, I'm yet to lay hands on a good design and construction plan that will help to prevent the much dreaded smell that could emanate from the farm. Again, I also have interest in raising antelopes and porcupine. Thanks. BENIN CITY, EDO STATE, NIGERIA.

@roger Johnson, good day sir. I started my small piggery 6 months ago. Now, i would like to expand it and I need additional investments. I could provide a brief business plan. Last january 2011 i bought 2 piglets to grow. after 4 mos I disposed them and now I have 5 new piglets and 3 hogs. I wanted to expand my Pigpen but im short with financing. If anyone is interested to invest in a piggery or poultry business please email me at sbantilan@yahoo.com or call me at country code is 63(088) 521 3207. I am now experimenting a traditional piggery in which has a very promisable enterprise and unique consumer line. It is very much cheaper in terms of cost of feeds per pigs and way more profitable than the usual hog raising.

We are planning to setup Pig Farm in Northern India ( Ghaziabad, U.P India). Although i have got some feedback that its not the ideal location due to relatively high temperature. Can any one share some thoughts on this. Also if someone has a project plan or report on the initial start up cost, recurring expenses, margins ,breakeven and pros and cons of the business. Prateek

I am a medical professional (Sonographer) in Harare, Zimbabwe who is trying to start a pig farming business. I am currently saving money to start a pig business but I do not have much knowledge in this business. I kindly request information about how to construct the pens, register the business and where I can get good sows to buy and good boars to rent or buy. I am constantly seeking information about this industry and would be very happy if someone who is in the pig industry in Zimbabwe would invite me to come and tour his farm for a small fee and get first hand information. Thank you. My name is Kindman and my cell number is 0774 344 211, My e-mail address is ndlovukindman@gmail.com...THANK YOU!!!

Very impressed with what I have read. I am a small scale piggery farmer at Wakiso in Uganda. I am looking for a market for piglets 30 of 3 months and above, 15 males of 6 moths, 13 young ones of 1 month. My challenge has been seeding and getting the right weight at the right time. I will try for the organic no smell technology. Thanks Pauline

i started a piggery project with only two pigs in 2011. the two pigs gave birth and as i speak now they reached a total of 30 but i had to sell twelve young ones due to land problem. am expecting to have around 70 young ones by march next year as i have nine female ones that will give birth at around that time. my target is future expansion and become a leading distributor. how can i solve the land problem and where can i get relatively cheap land which is not very far from kampala-uganda? how can i raise additional capital forland probably an acre? nyende ronald-kampala uganda

Hi, I’m interested in starting up a pig farm in Jamaica West Indies. I have no experience with livestock or farming but it’s been my passion for many years. I have been able to accumulate the funds & now would like to change career and invest in a farm. Please help me with a business plan, the types of pigs that would do well in the Caribbean. I would also like some information regarding commercial and organic farming of pig. Your help would be appreciated.
