US Companies Eye New Job Offering – Survey

Companies in the US are now eyeing the creation of new jobs for the American people as they look ahead into 2010 sales, a new data from a private research firm showed on Monday.

According to the survey, there will be a boost of manpower and equipment purchases by the firms as they try to restore previous operations in the wake of the worst recession.

A data from the private research firm National Association for Business Economics revealed on Monday that major companies in the United States are now looking into boosting its workforce and investments into 2010, giving the impression that the economic recovery is now moving way pass the recession.

For the first in more than a year, companies in the US are now aiming into taking more payrolls and equipment spending, the research firm said. Economists said that the recent move by companies to invest heavily on workforce may be attributed to strong sales and lower profit margins in the past months following the worst recession next to the Great Depression.

In a statement, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago senior economist William Strauss said that the development in the firms is solid evidence that the recovery process in the US is under way, adding that companies are more optimistic with its outlooks since July 2009.

Likewise, the new survey results suggested that the great slump in employment will soon end particularly in the field of service-industries.

“We expect major developments in the area of manufacturing and service industries including those of the retail, health-care, hotels and restaurants. It will be followed by positive outlooks in the sector of finance, insurance and real estates as more and more companies tried to beef up their workforce in the next six months,” he said.

It will be recalled that the United States has lost some 7.2 million jobs during the recession, with the number of jobless reaching record high of 9.8 percent in September. But the US Labor Department expects the number to go down as companies activate its spending powers with the purchase of additional equipment.
