Profit from Seven Financial Stocks

Seven Financial Stocks of Profit

Summary: Banks are now moving away from traditional banking in order to shore up capital ratios and goose their profits. Now, a handful of players globally are getting in full position to fill the void. The seven financial stocks of profit are named.

According to research, there are seven financial stocks that are poised for future profit.

The biggest banks such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase brings in majority of their revenue from trading and other activities rather than core banking functions such as lending to consumers and businesses. And since these banks are now generating profits compared to their peers who are still producing red ink, this example may drive other banks toward trading and far from the lending model.

There are several banks that could fill the vacuum such as:

  • United States – U.S. Bancorp is one of the few banks in the U.S. likely to grow their loan portfolio.
  • Canada – Toronto-Dominion used the Canadian market, even though highly-regulated, as a base to move into banking. While another bank, Manulife Financial fills the void that Asia and China left by withdrawing ING and American International Group from the insurance market.
  • China – HSBC refocused on its Asia historic roots after losing billions in the U.S. mortgage market.
  • Spain – Banco Santander is an acquired U.S. bank sovereign last year and it became the largest bank in Latin America.
  • Africa – Standard Bank Group does business in about 38 countries and considered to belong to the top four largest banks in the whole South Africa.
  • United Kingdom – Standard Chartered is based in London and does business across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia
