Government Grants Help Business

Summary: People don’t know that they can apply for government grants and start up the business that they’ve been dreaming of for many years. This is money that they don’t have to pay. So whatever business that you want to open, you can own your business and be your own boss with a little help from Uncle Sam.

The federal government is issuing government grants because they know that every new business will create new jobs and help stimulate the economy.

Whether you’re opening a huge Italian pizza parlor, a little bed and breakfast, buy a retail outlet, or purchase your favorite franchise establishment, you can find a federal grant to help you get started. And to begin your journey, you need to obtain free publication catalog from the government with a listing of all grant sources available and offered in various federal agencies. This is called CFDA or Catalog for Federal Domestic Assistance.

CFDA categorically lists all grants that you may want to consider applying for. This catalog is also available in electronic version (PDF format). Then once you’ve identified your grant, you may want to research and meet all eligibility requirements. Some grants might be needs based while others are just for seniors, veterans, African American individuals, or just for women. Be certain that you meet all requirements and understand all requirements before submitting your application.

Draw up your business plan to outline the kind of business that you plan to open. Fill out the paperwork carefully and be mindful of any deadline to ensure approval of your application.
