Panda Express Franchise

Panda express markets delicious Asian cuisine and is a suitable franchise option for those interested in engaging in a business that showcases Asian culinary delicacies.

The Panda Express offers American Asian Cuisine which is both quick and delicious.

It is considered as the largest Chain of Chinese fast food restaurants in the country, having several stand alone and drive through outlets nationwide. The company was first founded in 1973 and was known as the Panda Inn fine dining restaurant in Pasadena California. As news of the delicious food and excellent service grew far and wide the company was able to develop into a fast food type of restaurant and was renamed the Panda Express in 1983.

The chain offers a wide variety of Asian and particularly Chinese cuisine with just a touch of American flavor for variety. Popular menu dishes include the Kung Pao chicken, Orange Chicken, Mandarin Chicken and the Beijing Beef. The food chain currently has 1,321 locations across the country and has a growing international market especially in Puerto Rico. The company garners around $1 billion in income rating and in staff currently has around 13,000 employees.

Considering that Asian food is a fast growing segment of the restaurant industry, the Panda Express is looking for new and innovative ways to bring this gourmet Chinese food restaurant to more and more clients throughout the country. With this there are certain site parameters that need to be considered to qualify for building the Panda empire. For End Cap and freestanding establishments with or without the drive through there should be pole/monument and building signage, at least 50 seats available, 20 parking slots, high visibility, a minimum ceiling height of 14’ drive thru plus and a building size of end cap: 1,800 to 2,000 square feet and for free standing 2,200 to 2,600 square feet with patio.

For traffic generators there should be an average daily traffic of more than 45,000 cars combined main and cross streets, trade area day population of more than 30,000, heavy retail, daytime employment, shopping centers, entertainment, going home side of traffic, strong balance of residential and daytime activity and a trade area residential population of more than 65,000. Nontraditional and mall sites may be in arenas and stadiums, major entertainment centers, casinos, major airports, hospitals, university and college campuses with more than 14,000 population, visible and accessible and with a mall size of more than 1,000,000 square feet with 3+ number of anchors. Building requirements for food courts should be 800 to 1000 square feet with a minimum frontage of 24 feet, in line of 1,800 to 2,000 square feet with a minimum frontage of 35 feet and utilities should be stubbed to space.

If your site meets any of the aforementioned criteria then feel free to give the Panda Express a call to discuss putting your Restaurant Development Group for consideration. Though there are currently no franchises available you may still submit your criteria for discussion.

The proposed site is in Wasco, Ca; on Highway 46; an east/west atery for travelers and truckers as well as the community. Recently a Carl's Jr. and Denny's have opened within two tenths of a mile of each other and seem to be doing good business.

Would like to start up a Panda Express - love the restaurant with drive-thu. Would like to get started in San Angelo Texas, United States. We have an Air Force Base, San Angelo University, and many tourists with no drive thru asian cusine. The few chinese restaurant are in the shopping mall or at the airport and don't compare. I loved the one in San Antonio, Texas. What requirements are requested for the startup including the financial aspect. Looking for a semi retirement fun project.

I've been in the food industry for years myself managing restaurants and such. Also I grew up around restaurants as a kid because that was a source of income for almost all the members in my family. Amsterdam, The Netherlands, would be a great place to start a new Panda Express. If you would open one in one of the main streets, thousands of people who shop there all day are looking for something healthy to eat, which must be exotic and must not take too long. There are few exotic fast food restaurants at this moment so the restaurant will definitely make a profit as well.
