Microsoft, Yahoo! to Close Deal on Internet Search

Wall Street Journal Says Deal May Be on Wednesday

Summary: Following months of delay, the partnership for the Internet search engine development of Yahoo and Microsoft may be sealed off this Wednesday, the WSJ said in its report. The partnership plans to outlast marker leader Google.

Internet giant Yahoo and software manufacturer Microsoft Corp will sign the partnership on the development of its internet search engine, at the very least, on Wednesday.

The new partnership plans to directly compete against Google, which has been leading the market for several years now.

However, the reports also said that the deal could possibly be reached on Wednesday but there are also strong possibilities that it could be delayed.

Under the said partnership, Yahoo has agreed to utilize Microsoft’s search engine called “Bing” in its own website.

The papers also said that Microsof would be allowed to access a high volume of search queries and questions that can be found in Yahoo’s SE.

But in exchange for all the query access, Yahoo will be the one in charge of the advertising sales and the selling of text ads that can be found in its search engine as well as Microsoft’s websites.

However, the terms of financial agreements between the two companies were not immediately available as sources refuse to further reveal the details of the partnership.

According to earlier reports, Microsoft will pay the internet company a huge sum of money in exchange for control over its search engine in advertising business. The deal, according to a report, will also guarantee Yahoo of certain “payments”.
