@m a ansari, If you are looking for non-cage type farm then you need a built-up area of 30,000 sqft. You can make 2 sheds with 20,000 sq ft and 30,000 sqft. Move the chicken from smaller shed to the bigger after 20 days. In that way you can sell 10,000 birds in every 20 days.

@Tracerbullet, Yes chickens and fishes can be grown on same plot. Entrepreneurs also use the chicken stools as fish food. You need to survey more with the kind of fish that can be grown along chicken and how to adjust the food for fish if you plan to use chicken excreta for that.

@sone inCamerooon, Where is the business situated? Every country is having different vaccines and feed so be very clear in your question. Buying packed feed could be costlier so try to use a mixture to prepare your own feed.

@Noyce E Wilson, you have not mentioned about your country so it is hard to tell you more about the local financer/investor. But many countries do offer loans with lower interest for agriculture through local banks and societies so try visiting cooperative centers and find out more info on that.

I am a retired military officer here in Nigeria. I live in the South West part of Nigeria, Akure in Ondo State precisely. I already have a poultry farm of only 300 lkayers that started laying last February. I actually bought 350 day old chicks. 9 died before 16 weeks while the some died of other causes and the rest (21) died of carnivorous behavior after laying. Now I have just bought 1451 square meters of land (15,619 sq.feet). I want to increase my next breed to 2000 layers. Please tell me these things:
1.Which do you recommend I do, Caged or liter type?
2.The advantages and disadvantages of each.
3.Size of the floor plan of each type.
