    @naushad samnani,You can go for cold storage for normal fruit and vegitable. Tomato Puri will come under processing . MOFPI is the institution which you will have to apply for processing plant.

    @radhakishan jakhar, the commodity you mentioned requires special cold storage , Apple require CA cold Storage which cost almost Rs. 35000 per MT Banana require ripening room and difficult to store after ripening . will cost you 1 lakh per MT. Multicommodity for Potato 10 K per MT. So you have to set the design as per your market requirement. Multicommodity with banana ripening is good option and with in your budget.

    Hello Lokesh .I am in cold storage industry for last 5 years. To start cold storage first decide what item u want to store , Capacity of a plant. Contact NHB for LOI . Take Certificates from various departments. I can guide u about the Machinery, Technology to be choosen for your cold storage but for that let me know the product u want to store First

    @pankaj jain, There are lot of thing depends upon the commodity you want to put , Potato can be one option . Apple can be other. Land requirement of it also depends. You require land more then 1 acre. Investment 5 crore for potato . Land use to be clarify in punjab. Subsidy you can get from NHB and NHM. You require CA to finance the project . Design engineer to fill the data sheet. It is combination of all the stream which make the project of cold storage.

Specially, we are interested to store Lemon, Apples and other similar commodities with multi room facility. We are also interested to set up full sorting line too.     I am planning to set up a cold store business at Murewa Growth Point, 80km north east of Harare in Zimbabwe. The total land available, including yard is 180 square metres. Average maximum temperature in the area is 28 degrees celsius while average relative humidity 78%. I intend to store beef/pork carcasses and allied products in both frozen and chilled state. In addition to these, i also intend to store fresh fruits (mangoes) and vegetables mainly tomatoes. There are no structures on the site i have to start from scratch. Please provide advice on the type of structure I can put up and the appropriate refrigeration equipment. My idea was to construct a prefabricated insulated structure and instal the split type refrigeration system. The system should be able to switch from freezer to chiller and reach at least -18 degrees celsius. The structure should comprise of three cold rooms and an air conditioned processing room.     2- Now the cold storage license will be issued by State Govt. or Central Govt.
    3- Is there any subsidy given for opening cold storage by govt.
    4- What all are the legal document required for opening a cold storage area & who is the License issuing authority.
    5- Things to be taken into consideration before opening any such cold storage area, so that it should abide by legal process.

    @SANJAY, There are lot of storage available in your area . For potato and onion they require different condition of humidity . You can design the system for one of these. other vegetable also require conditions but have short life of storage. Let me know the vegetable you are interested in storing. Fund are also on shorter side . You require almost 1 crore for opening such capacity of cold storage. Bank can give you loan up to 75 % depending upon papers.

    @radha krishna trivedi, As far as machine there are various supplier which supply individual component . Kirloskar supply compressor . Coil by Alfa lavel . Condenser by Bombay ammonia etc. Better go for some consultant .to specify Boq for your project then you can ask the quote from different vender.

    @Muzammil Shaikh, For grapes you have to build a cold storage with precooling facility and then storage. You can also go for complete cold chain solution .

    @Swapna, You can go the nhb web site and search for certified engineers in cold chain they work as a consultant as well.

    @vivek kumar, storing of mushroom and potato require different temperature. The land you are talking about is less for a cold storage of potato. You can set up mushroom cold storage in this land .
