    Sir, we have a land of 4.5 acres in which we have built a store of 80,000 cubic ft. Previously we have decided set up chilly factory but now we are planning to set up cold storage facility and give it up for rent.. Permisson, electricity,we even have noc from the heads of the village panchayat. The area is 3000 sq ft. I'm from hyderabad and a veterinarian. This place is located just 24 kms away from hyd city.!     Sir, I have installed a cold storage in Tehsil Siyana, distt Buland Shahr, U.P for storing potato. I have studied thoroughly that there is a Agriculture belt and farmers are growing potatoes in their fields but they do not have a cold storage space to store their crop. Last year I was unable to complete my cold storage when the crop was on the peak but when I was able to complete this cold storage of 5000 M/ton capacity this season, there is shortage of potato. What I should do because there is to many expenses in cold storage along with energy expenses including interest of term loan and working capital. Can you guide me what should I do for survive.     Sir, I wish to set up a Mini Cold Storage for multiple storage use in minimal quantities for a limited time or on a regular and permanent basis within the Ground Floor facility of my residence and measuring to around two 30x50 size (1500 sq.ft) empty rooms built as Car Porches but totally empty in Trivandrum, PTP Nagar area. I would like to know this facility can be converted as Cold Storage either for renting out or to provide Cold Store facility to Stockists based on their needs. My plan to invest minimum Rs.25 Lacs in the initial stage. Is there any demand for such facility in that area and if it is permitted to set up a cold storage in the ground floor totally secured as closed rooms? If so how much would be the capital required to set up it? What are other requirements like legal and other services, licenses, electricity need, manpower,competitors, Consultants available, feasibility report, expenses involved etc. to plan the project early 2013.

    @kishore patel. Cold store business is very good in Raipur. You can go for a multipurpose cold store for storing Mohua, Mango dust, Jaggery, Chilly etc. We do all sorts of cold sore jobs from concept to commissioning.

    @kishore patel, a cold storage needs electricity, doesn't matter where is it coming from. It can come from a DG or solar power or wind power or from a regular government supply.

    Hi..This is Ananth..doing my masters in Logistics own focus & SCM in UK. We are having a family business back home in Tamil Nadu which focus on contract logistics and 3PL. We have our own fleet of trucks also. We have our own land for 2 acres in Nagapattinam District, which is one of the largest PADDY Producing hubs in the country. The land is conveniently located outside the town nearer to Rail station and 40 kms from nearest port. The place is also 120 kms from Tiruchy, which is the central location for vegetable markets in Tamil Nadu. If we want to build a cold warehouse in that area, which are the sectors I can target to reach? What is the scope for development ? and what would be the initial investment provided there is no land costs ? Can you share some data regarding the Farm produce (Vegetables, fruits and Perishables) in Tamil Nadu and how much the sector is in need of cold warehousing Industry ? Many Thanks, Ananth

    Dear Sir, I have half acre of land and max that I can invest is 50-60 lakhs (including subsidies). I want to open a ware house for crops like wheat and mustard and can also think of extending it for potato if it meets my investment requirement. Ware house of how much capacity can I be able to start with investment constraint. Kindly suggest. Thank you very much.
