The year-over-year sales of the auto company also fell from 120, 788 to 114, 655 company executives said. They added that it was the effect of the “big slowdown” that usually comes after government programs like the clunkers. However, Ford said that the recent drop in their sales is a welcoming development, saying that it only shows that the market is ticking. The executives added those retailers’ showrooms were the only ones that got hit by the slowdown resulting to a 14 percent drop in September. But they said that sales with fleet customers such as car rental shops have increased by more than 23 percent. Volvo, which is also under Ford, has registered a 16 percent increase with more than $4, 700 vehicles sold in September.
